"Watermelon and Kufiya" Unisex Hoodie

The Design 

This is the go-to hoodie to make a statement in an elegant yet simple fashion, making it a timeless piece to add to your wardrobe. The inside of the hood resembles the Kufiya, while the front of the hoodie comes in two options: a watermelon or the key of return.

The patterns on the Kufiya symbolize various themes:

• Olive leaves: Strength, resilience, perseverance.
• Fishnet: Connection between Palestinian sailors and the Mediterranean sea
• Bold lines: Trade routes going through Palestine including Silk Road

The key of return: 

• Many Palestinians who were forcibly displaced  kept the key to their house in hopes to one day return to their land. The key has become a symbol for the right to return. 

Watermelon:

• The iconic Watermelon symbol dates back to 1967 when Israel made it a criminal offence to display the Palestinian flag or its colours in the West Bank and Gaza. Since then, the Watermelon has become a symbol of resistance and resilience for its similarity in colours with the Palestinian flag, once sliced.

The Fit and Feel 

This premium heavyweight garment has a generous fit and is completed with a fleece lined hood, heavy gauge round drawcord, nickel eyelets, and 1x1 ribbing at cuffs and waistband.
